STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State basketball coach Sean Sutton today announced the indefinite suspension of senior Marcus Dove from the Cowboys' basketball team for violating a team policy.
The Payne County Sheriff's Office says Dove was arrested early Sunday by OSU police for driving under the influence. He was released later that same day.
Sutton says the players need to understand and respect what it means to be a member of the Cowboy basketball team but that message isn't getting through to some players. Sutton says he's "extremely embarrassed and disappointed."
Dove averaged just over 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for OSU last year and was usually counted on to guard the opponents' top offensive player. He was named the Big 12 co-defensive player of the year.
