Cameron University passes fundraising goal

Lawton_ Cameron University President Cindy Ross says the Lawton school has raised its goal for a capital fundraising campaign after passing its previous goal.  Ross says the University's original goal was to raise $8.5 Million in three years, but two years into the campaign, Cameron already has raised more than $9 million.

Now, Ross says CU officials are setting a $10 million goal by the time the campaign ends, she said.  The focus of the fundraising campaign is on building a $6.5 million student activities complex.

The university also has raised $1.25 million for endowed faculty positions and more than $877,000 for scholarships.  Cameron has an enrollment of about 5600 full and part-time students.
