Bill Burgess to chair the State Regents for Higher Education

A Lawton man has been elected to chair the State Regents for Higher Education. Bill Burgess will lead the nine-member board throughout the 2007-2008 fiscal year.

Burgess was first appointed to a nine-year term with the regents in 1993, and re-appointed in 2002. He is a Cameron graduate, and earned his law degree at OU. The State Regents are the coordinating board of control for Oklahoma's 25 public colleges and universities, which includes Cameron.
