Lawton_Police have reported that there has been a double homicide, from a possible home invasion on Lawton's west side. Two women have been reported murdered.
The two young women, aged 18 and 20, were found shot to death in their homes. Around 5pm, the mother of one of the victims discovered the slain girls. Police are currently on the scene and ask that you avoid the area around 61st and Oak Cliff on the west side, while they investigate.
The victims next of kin have been notified and the police are looking for the suspect. Neighbors said that there were young people seen coming and going from the home all the time. A national environmental group is urging the Oklahoma Bar Association to investigate former Attorney General and current EPA administrator Scott Pruitt. The organization believes Pruitt lied to senators during his confirmation hearing. According to KWTV, the Center for Biological Diversity and an OU law professor filed a formal complaint with the OBA alleging Pruitt showed “apparent carelessness with the truth."
The Oklahoma state Senate has passed a bill to give teachers a pay raise. The bill would raise the price of gas and diesel to pay for road maintenance and use the money already put back for road projects instead on education. The problem that many in the Senate pointed out is that they don't have the power to authorize that move.
