Double Homicide on Lawton's west side

Lawton_Police have reported that there has been a double homicide, from a possible home invasion on Lawton's west side.  Two women have been reported murdered.

The two young women, aged 18 and 20, were found shot to death in their homes.  Around 5pm, the mother of one of the victims discovered the slain girls.  Police are currently on the scene and ask that you avoid the area around 61st and Oak Cliff on the west side, while they investigate.

The victims next of kin have been notified and the police are looking for the suspect.  Neighbors said that there were young people seen coming and going from the home all the time.  If you have any information with relation to this crime or any suspicious activity in the area, please contact authorities.

The event is hosted by Elgin High School Art classes, Art Club & Family and Consumer Science classes. The community is invited to come out and support this effort for hunger relief.  EHS Students have created handmade clay bowls.

    The Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (1921 Stonecipher Blvd) in Ada will host a nursing career fair on Tuesday, February 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event is open to all registered nurses, practical nurses and scrub technicians licensed in Oklahoma. Applications can be completed online at chickasaw.net/careers. Managers will be available for interviews and able to hire on-site.

    A Sallisaw police officer shot a suspect Sunday night. Sallisaw police stopped a silver Ford Focus in the parking lot of the Northeastern Health Systems-Sequoyah.  The driver Jonathan Duane Atchley began assaulting two officers. Officers were forced to shoot Atchley. Atchley was treated at Northeastern Health Systems hospital but he died from the gunshot wound. The Sallisaw Police Department requested OSBI agents investigate the officer-involved shooting.
