Lawton_19-year old Xavier Adams was arraigned in Comanche County District Court Monday on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Bianca Ward and Jennifer Brown, whose bodies were discovered at their southwest Lawton home on Friday. Adams is being held in the Comanche County Detention Center on $1 million bond.
Lawton Police say Adams is a recently estranged boyfriend of Ward's, and was interviewed in the course of the investigation of the murders. The bodies of the women were discovered about 3 p.m. Friday by Ward's mother, who called 911. In the course of the investigation, police say Adams, a self-professed gang member, provided an alibi for his whereabouts at the time of the homicides. Investigators say that proved to be false, and during a second interview, Adams made a confession.
He told detectives he became angry when he saw Ward talk to another man on Friday morning. That afternoon, he went to Ward's home where, investigators say, he forced his way into the residence, kicking in a side door. Inside the home, they say Adams shot the two women multiple times with an automatic handgun. Police say they recovered the murder weapon and other evidence at Adams' home shortly after his arrest.
Xavier Adams appeared in front of a judge and pled not guilty on 2 counts of murder in the first degree.
