Love County, OK_Authorities raided a horseracing operation in Love County that was suspected of running illegal races. Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown said there were between 300 and 400 people at the track in Thackerville near the Texas border when the raid began.
Brown said it's too early to say how many people will be charged, but there will be many. Constantin Rieger, Executive Director, OK Horse Racing Commission said that the charges included, but were not limited to, racketeering.
Authorities said a Thackerville man who lived on the property where the races were held was believed to be the primary operator. Brown said the raid was the culmination of a year-long investigationthat included spanish-speaking OSBI agents going undercover to infiltrate the operation.
