FEMA deadline for unemployment assistance

Comanche County_The final numbers are still being compiled for those helped with flood-related questions during the past six days at Lawton's FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in the 41 hundred block of West Gore before it closed its doors last evening.   But registration continues for flood victims by using the toll-free FEMA hotline at 1-800-621 FEMA, 8 am till 6 pm daily.  FEMA Public Information Officer Ed Edahl tells 7News that so far, 3020 persons across Oklahoma have registered their flood-related damage.  And the updated figures include 405 so far from Comanche County, 77 from Stephens County, 51 from Kiowa County and 39 from Cotton County.

A reminder about an important deadline coming up for those faced with job loss due to the flooding: The deadline to apply  for Disaster Unemployment Assistance for residents of Comanche County is coming up this Wednesday, August 15th.

The number to call is toll free at 1-800-555-1554.
