Huntington, Utah (AP) _ A mine executive says rescuers in Utah remain focused on their efforts to find six miners who have been trapped for 12 days, even after three of their fellow searchers were killed.
Rob Moore says crews suffered an "incredible loss'' when yesterday's cave-in killed three people and wounded six more. Notably absent from a news conference today, was the mine's co-owner Bob Murray. His emotional speeches have dominated the news of the six trapped miners. Moore said murray wanted to be there, but didn't explain his absence.
Moore says crews are still drilling toward the spot where equipment picked up mysterious vibrations. He says they hope to find the miners alive when the drill breaks through. With the devastating cave-in yesterday, underground search efforts have been suspended indefinitely.
