Convicted Stephens County drug dealer escapes from state custody

UNION CITY-- Authorities are looking for a convicted drug dealer from Stephens County after they say he escaped from a corrections center Saturday morning. 

The Department of Corrections says Mermeond Russell was present for a roll call at 6am Saturday morning, but two-and-a-half hours later he was no where to be found.

OHP says Russell has ties to the Lawton and Duncan areas. Lawton Police confirm he used to live in the city and they've had dealings with him in the past.

He was convicted in 2006 on several counts of distributing a controlled substance in Stephens County.

If you see Russell, call police or the highway patrol.
