Lawton Soldier loses life in Iraq

The U.S. Department of Defense released the news that Staff Sgt. Lillian Clamens, 35, of Lawton was killed supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.  She died Oct. 10 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked her unit with rockets.  She was assigned to the 1st Postal Platoon, 834th Adjutant General Company, Miami.

    The Lawton Police Department arrested one man following a traffic stop on a black Dodge Charger near 19th Street and NW Irwin Avenue on April 22nd. The driver, Christopher Staton, allowed the officers to search his vehicle and there was drug paraphernalia, pills, and cash found.
