Lawton Food 4 Kids "Project Home"

Lawton_The Lawton Food 4 Kids program has fed more than 500 hungry students this year and the Lawton Home Builder's Association is helping feed hundreds more.  Proceeds from their golf tournament and upcoming "Project Home" will go to Food 4 Kids.

All 26 Lawton elementary schools are involved in the program which began in 2005.  Kids were going hungry over the weekend and it affected their performance in school.  Because of the Food 4 Kids program, kids who need help take home a sack of child friendly food - no oven required.  Every penny raised for the program benefits the students.

"It's a wonderful thing for everybody in Lawton, Ft. Sill to be able to say, in our community, there's no reason for a child to go hungry on the weekend. And that's a pretty powerful thing to say," says LPS Superintendent Linda Dzialo.

If you would like to help the Lawton Food 4 Kids program - visit The Annual Lawton Home Builder's Association Tour of Homes.  There are 28 homes to tour plus the 2007 project house at 1412 NE Kingsbriar in East Lake.  Tour hours this week are Friday from 5:30-7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1-6pm.  Tickets for the project house tour are $5 and are available at the door.
