OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma State linebacker Chris Collins testified today in the sentencing phase of the aggravated sexual assault case against him.
Collins pleaded guilty yesterday in New Boston, Texas, to the crime against a 12-year-old girl during an after-prom party in May 2004 when Collins was 17.
He told the jury today the girl told him she was 16. The girl has denied that claim.
Collins' mother, a pastor and 2 of his former high school football coaches also testified and said committing such a crime would be out of character for him.
Collins faces anywhere from probation to life in prison. Prosecutors say they made no plea deal before Collins pleaded guilty.
