Duncan_Police officers shot and killed a man late Sunday night after they say he took a man hostage inside a Braum's restaurant. It happened around 10:30 pm. Investigators say it all started when the man crashed a car he was driving into another car in front of the restaurant on Highway 81. Following the crash, police say the man, for an unknown reason, ran into Braum's and took a man hostage. Duncan's assistant police chief tells 7-News that officers tried to get the suspect to surrender, but he would not. That's when police opened fire and killed him.

So far, police have not released the hostage taker's name. They describe him as a middle aged white man. Assistant Chief Major Rick Lang would not confirm whether he had a weapon. As for the hostage, police say he sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Lang says since officers were involved, the OSBI has been called in to investigate the shooting.
