HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Larry Fedora was spotted today in Mississippi, where he may be interviewing for a head football coaching position.
The Hattiesburg American published a photograph on its Web site showing Southern Mississippi Athletic Director Richard Giannini and Fedora exiting a private jet in Laurel. The flight left Stillwater, Oklahoma, earlier in the day.
OSU head coach Mike Gundy confirmed that Fedora had interviewed for the Southern Miss job, but wouldn't say much else.
Gundy says he'd do what he could to help Fedora become a head coach if the right situation came along.
The 45-year-old Fedora is in his third season as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State.
Southern Miss coach Jeff Bower resigned last week after 17 seasons as the Golden Eagles' head coach, but will coach the team through their December 22nd appearance in the Papajohns.com Bowl.
