OKEMAH, Okla. (AP) - Westbound lanes of Interstate 40 have been closed in eastern Oklahoma because of a pileup just west of Okemah in Okfuskee County.
The state Transportation Department says the closure is expected to last a few hours, and traffic is being diverted.
Cars are being re-routed onto Oklahoma Highway 48 and then onto Oklahoma Highway 56 before getting back onto the interstate.
A section of eastbound I-40 in El Reno was also briefly closed because of excessively slick conditions, and officials warned people not to travel on the roadway.
