UPDATE: Young boy dies in late afternoon car accident

Lawton_A car wreck killed a ten-year-old boy in Lawton, Thursday just after 5 p.m., at the intersection of 82nd St. and West Lee Blvd.  Chance Tselee, of Cache was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Initial reports indicate the accident was caused by a woman who ran a red light. The woman's SUV slammed into a car where the 10-year-old was sitting in the back seat. 

The  car Tselee was in was traveling west on Lee Blvd, and the other car was traveling north on 82nd Street.  According to authorities, the driver of the SUV was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.  Police are continuing their investigation, and will turn the case over to the District Attorney's office to determine if any charges will be filed.

Cache Public Schools has created a memorial fund to help Chance's family cope with their loss.  The account is listed under "Chance Tselee" at the Bank of the Wichitas.  You can donate to the fund at any location.
