COPY-OKC native shines in AFC Championship

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Oklahoma City native Wes Welker shines for the New England Patriots in today's AFC Championship game against the San Diego Chargers.

The former standout at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City hauled in seven catches for 56 yards, including a key fourth-quarter touchdown reception from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

During the regular season this year, Welker led the team with 112 receptions for 1,175 yards. He also scored eight touchdowns and handled kick and punt return duty for the Patriots.

After graduating from Heritage Hall, Welker played in college at Texas Tech.
