OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A junior college linebacker committed today to play for Oklahoma next season.
J.R. Bryant from Garden City Community College told The Oklahoman about his decision to play for the Sooners.
Bryant is a former teammate of Oklahoma offensive tackle Phil Loadholt. He is 6-foot-3 and earned All-American honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association last season.
He will compete for the linebacker spot that was vacated when junior Curtis Lofton announced that he would enter the NFL draft early.
Bryant cannot sign with the Sooners until Feb. 6.
