Passenger air lifted after semi wreck

Comanche County_A second semi truck has been involved in a wreck in less than four days.  Just off of I-44 near the Comanche Spur Casino near the Medicine Park exit, the first semi collided with a car right in front of the casino wiping out several cars in the parking lot.

Monday, it happened again.  The casino generates a lot of traffic, and drivers can become distracted looking at the building.  So, it can be a dangerous stretch of road if a driver isn't paying attention.  It's unclear whether this is the reason for these accidents.

Troopers say at least one of the vehicles involved in Monday's wreck was pulling into the casino off of Highway 277, and at least four cars were involved in the wreck.  Two people were cut from the wreckage with the jaws-of-life.  The driver of a white SUV suffered internal injuries and broken ribs, a passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital and remains in stable condition.

All other persons involved in the wreck have been treated and released.

That's about 20 percent of their enrollment. Empire Mayor Perry Brinegar says staff and workers spent the morning cleaning and disinfecting classrooms, hallways, and different areas (gyms, buses, lunchroom). School will resume Monday morning.
