STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State is headed to the NIT for the third straight season.

The Cowboys were chosen as a fifth seed in the National Invitational Tournament field on Sunday, and will face Southern Illinois in a first-round game Tuesday night.

Oklahoma State has lost in the opening round of the NIT each of the last two seasons. Marist beat the Cowboys in Stillwater last season, and OSU lost at Miami in 2006.

It's the 11th straight postseason bid for Oklahoma State.
