Even if next President begins withdrawal, Okla. soldiers likely to be large presence

Oklahoma's highest ranking military officer says that even if the next president of the United States decides to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq next year, soldiers from the state will play a significant role in the country for a while longer.

Major General Harry Wyatt says it's safe to say the Oklahoma National Guard will remain highly engaged.  Wyatt says that even if large numbers of ground forces are withdrawn from Iraq, there will probably still be a need for air forces.

Wyatt says more than 2,500 members of the Oklahoma National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade currently are serving in and around Baghdad, and 800 more from the 45th Fires Brigade are set to deploy this fall
