Comanche County_A house, just south of Fletcher on tribal land, caught fire on Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters say they were able to save about half of it. Two women and an eight-year-old were living in the house, and were able to get out safely.
Firefighters were originally called to the scene on a grass fire, but when Fletcher Police Chief Jon Shepard arrived, he realized it was the house that was burning. He saw the women and the boy attempting to fight off the fire with a garden hose. "It's horrendous to lose your house," said Shepard. There were two other ladies who live here running back into the residence. I was able to get them back out three time - they kept running into get personal items out."
Five fire departments responded to the fire, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation. Count on 7News to keep you updated.
