Thunderstorm slams Lawton

Undated_A severe thunderstorm rolled through Lawton Wednesday afternoon, packing high winds, and drenching rain.  Power outages were reported across the city and Cotton Electric Co-Op.  Wind bent a power pole on 45th Street near East Gore Boulevard.   PSO said two 45-foot poles were down. Winds across Texoma reached nearly 60 miles-per-hour.  At its height, more than 1,400 customers were without power.   PSO crews are working on switching lines and restoring power to everyone.    As of 6pm, Cotton Electric said about 200 customers remain without power north of Pumpkin Center but all power to Duncan customers has been restored.
