Lawton man behind bars facing charges of lewd acts with minors, 1st degree rape

Lawton_A 42-year-old Lawton man is behind bars, facing three charges of committing lewd acts with minors, and one count of first-degree rape with a child under the age of 16. Comanche County Sheriff Kenny Stradley says it all started on Saturday night at about 9:30, when three Comanche County boys, ages 14 and 15, were communicating with the suspect on the internet and by text messages on cell phones.

The Sheriff says the suspect later picked up the three teens west of Cache on Old Hwy. 62, and took them to a ball park where Stradley says the acts took place. The teens later were able to contact another individual who called the sheriff's office about the situation about 12:30 Sunday morning.   The sheriff called four investigators to work immediately on the case to help track down the suspect while the teens were returned home safely to their parents.

Stradley says they have been doing intensive investigation on this case since the incident, and were able to use a picture of the suspect on one of the teen's cell phones to help lead them to the suspect.  He was working on construction in Lawton when he was arrested on Tuesday.  Stradley says he expects charges to be filed by the Comanche County District Attorney's office tomorrow.

Stradley praised the actions of his deputies who worked intensely on this case to ensure that suspect was taken off the street and into custody as quickly as possible
