Granite_ At least two inmates were killed, and 12 others injured in a prison riot in Granite. Department of Corrections spokes person, Jerry Massey, at The Oklahoma State Reformatory says the prison remains on lockdown.
Massey says the fight broke out at 12:30 p.m., and lasted about five minutes. Prison officials say the situation was under control by mid-afternoon.
Massey says 12 were injured, and eight of those injured were transported to Jackson County Hospital in Altus. Reports say three people are in critical condition. He says all of the dead and injured are inmates, and no guards or prison workers were hurt.
Prison officials say the stabbings occurred in the medium security area of the prison where there are about 800 inmates.
