UPDATE: Body found on Beech Road in Duncan identified

Duncan_The body of 80-year-old Joe Mansell Sweeney was found along a Duncan road early Wednesday morning.  Police say the man was discovered Tuesday evening on Beech Road, lying next to his pickup truck, 8 1/2 miles west of Highway 81.  Police say he was found unconscious by his vehicle and was discovered by by passing motorists.  Candy wrappers were found in his vehicle, and police say that they know he was diabetic, and his symptoms were consistent with a diabetic coma.

When first respondants arrived, they were unable to revive him.  His next of kin have been notified, and his body has been sent to the medical examiner.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was originally called to  the scene to investigate what they say they believed was a fatal car wreck.  However, there was no wreck.
