Texas editor missing since Wednesday

Waco_Central Texas authorities today continue their search for a Bosque County news editor who went missing Wednesday night.

Ladawn Garland, 42, Managing Editor at the Weekly in Meridian, was last heard from about 7 p.m. Wednesday. Sgt. Ronnie Ashmore of the Hamilton County Sheriff's office says that when she called her husband from her cell phone and told him she was at the Best Buy in Waco about 45 miles from home.

Darrell Garland told KXXV-TV his wife called saying she was going to the store to buy a cell phone battery. Then she asked what he wanted for supper. Garland said he didn't know but that he'd call back in a minute.  He says he tried calling her back but never got her again.  Garland says he's not sure his wife made it to the store.

Law enforcement officials have searched by helicopter while others have driven along the route she could have taken.  Authorities also have checked credit card transactions and will watch store surveillance video.
