Beloved LPD Ret. Master Officer Husky passes away

Lawton_Veteran of the Lawton Police Department (LPD) Retired Master Officer Robert Huskey passed away on Wednesday at a local hospital after suffering from a heart attack. 

Officer Huskey joined the LPD on September 6, 1977 and retired in September, 2002.  Huskey worked as a patrolman and later became a Master Officer during his career with the Department.  After his retirement, Huskey made the decision to work part-time for the police department in 2005 when officers were being deployed for the war on terror.

Off duty, Officer Husey worked for the Lawton Public Schools Police, and was assigned to MacArthur middle school where he was well-liked by the students there.

Officer Huskey was in good standing at the time of his death, and will be missed by his fellow officers and many Lawton residents. 

Robert Huskey was 58 years old and is survived by his wife and five children.  His funeral service will be Monday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Apache.  Visitation will be Sunday the 15th from 6-8 p.m. at Crews Funeral Home, also in Apache.
