Closing arguments under way in Sheppard rape case

Wichita Falls_Closing arguments have started in the Sheppard Air Force Base court-martial of an Air Force officer accused of sexually assaulting two women.

Col. Samuel Lofton III didn't testify at his trial at the base near Wichita Falls.  Lofton's charged with rape, four counts of indecent assault and two counts of conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison. 

Lofton earlier pleaded guilty to 17 counts of larceny, to being absent without leave nearly a dozen times and two counts of dereliction of duty.
