Tulsa_A Tulsa television news anchorman arrested last week has been charged with two misdemeanors.  Tulsa County Prosecutor Steve Kunzweiler says Jerry Giordano faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.

Giordano has worked since 1996 for television station KTUL. He issued a statement on the station's web site saying he promises "to press on no matter what'' but that he also understands" the seriousness and the gravity of the situation.''

A Tulsa police report notes that the 46-year-old Giordano was arrested about 6:20 p.m. On friday and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. The jail's web site notes that Giordano posted a $6,000 bond and was released shortly before 10 p.m.
