Cause revealed in deadly jet crash

Sheppard Air Force Base_The investigation into a deadly training jet crash at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls has concluded it was caused by pilot error.  You'll remember, the T-38-C went down in May.  An instructor and student-pilot were killed.  The report was filed by investigators at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio.  It says the two were simulating a single-engine landing approach.  When they tried to eject from the jet, the two seats collided.  Both men were killed on impact with the ground.

The report goes on to say the plane stalled about 25-feet to 40-feet above the ground.  That's when the two pilots tried to eject to safety.  Investigators say the instructor had control when things went wrong.
