Back to School in Lawton

Lawton_It's back to school today for students in Lawton.  That means drivers will want to be looking out for kids walking to and from school.  And, there are a lot of them, about 1,500.   Lawton Police are also out in force on this first day.  They're watching for speeders in school zones, and folks who are not stopping for school buses as students get on and off them.  The fines for violations are hefty.  So please be careful out there, as our Lawton students start the school year.

As for those students walking, there are crossing guards posted at some of Lawton's busiest intersections.  You'll find a list of those intersections here on the 7News home page.
