A Lawton man was shot and killed by a police officer overnight.Police say 25-year-old Marcell Johnson almost hit an officer with his car, then took off. When the officer tried to stop him, police say Johnson threw the car in reverse and tried to back into the police cruiser. Police Chief Ronnie Smith said after Johnson bailed out of the car, the officer had a confrontation with him. The details of that confrontation, right now are under investigation. The officer fired at least one shot and hit Johnson in the back of the neck.
He was taken to Comanche County Memorial where he was pronounced dead.
Smith said he believes the shooting will be justified, but Johnson's family still has some unanswered questions.
The O.S.B.I. is investigating the incident.
