Shooting victim's family hires investigator

Lawton_New developments in the case of the Lawton police officer who shot and killed a man after a traffic stop last week. The family of Marcell Johnson has hired Lawton attorney David Butler to perform an independent investigation into the shooting.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is also investigating the shooting.  Lead investigator Richard Goss says their results will be turned over to the district attorney's office for review.  Goss says he has three investigators working overtime on the case and hopes to have it to the district attorney by week;s end.

Johnson was killed last Thursday night after being shot in the neck and upper right chest by Lawton police officer Luis Pagan.

Officials say Pagan has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
