COMANCHE COUNTY_ A shooting Sunday afternoon in far eastern Comanche County claimed a man's life. It happened around 2:30 p.m on Baseline Road just west of Bethel Road. The call originally came in as a hunting accident.
Sheriff Kenny Stradley says the victim, along with a man and his teenage son, were shooting off guns in the area. At some point, they tell investigators they heard a shot and then saw the victim staggering toward them before he collapsed and died.
Deputies talked with the witnesses Sunday night in hopes of learning more about what happened. The victim's name has not been released, but the sheriff says he's a white man, approximately 40-years-old.
