Oklahoma City_A federal jury convicted Larry Collier Taylor, Junior of robbing a Lawton bank in May 2008.
Taylor was also convicted of carjacking and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. On May 4th, Taylor and another man approached a woman in an apartment complex parking lot in Oklahoma City, pulled out a gun, and took her car. Three days later, Taylor robbed the Peoples' State Bank on West Gore in Lawton. They used that stolen car as their getaway vehicle, then ditched it blocks away from the bank.
On May 20th, Taylor was pulled over on a traffic stop in Houston, and did not have a drivers license, registration, or insurance verification and was arrested. Authorities searched the car and found the stolen cash stamped with the bank's name.
The trial lasted a little over a day, and the jury deliberated approximately 30 minutes before returning their verdict.
Taylor's accomplice has not been caught.
