Drug distribution arrests made in Tillman County

FREDERICK_ A six-month drug distribution investigation in Tillman County ended Saturday with 11 arrests. Sheriff Bobby Whittington tells 7News that undercover officers and informants have been buying marijuana and crack cocaine from the suspects over the past few months. Saturday was all about putting them behind bars.

Armed with arrest warrants, deputies, police, and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents rounded up the suspects in Tipton, Grandfield, and Frederick. Those arrested were Sammy Johnson of Frederick. Jamine Simpson, Maria Garcia, Rex Rogers, and Victoria Cortez, all from Tipton. From Grandfield, they arrested Melissa Peterson, Andrew Steel, Ronald Bloggett, and George Rodriguez, Jr.

Sheriff Whittington says all of the nine, except for Sammy Johnson, face multiple counts of drug distribution charges. Johnson is accused of possession with the intent to sell.

The sheriff says his department also arrested two people on outstanding warrants during the roundup.
