Picerne Military Housing to take control of Fort Sill housing

Fort Sill_After years of planning, housing on Fort Sill is about to be privatized.  Beginning Saturday, Picerne Military Housing will take control - that includes maintenance, lawn mowing and move-out inspections.

For the first couple months, Picerne plans on finishing uncompleted work.  "We've got a backlog of about 500 work orders," said Garrison Commander Colonel Robert Bridgford. "They're going to be able to knock that out in a month and a half and keep up with the other new flow - that is a huge difference for our families here."

Picerne also plans on  substantially renovating 500 homes and in about a year, to break ground on 432 new ones. "We're general contractors, we're construction mangers, but we do not self-perform so we'll be hiring all local labor, all local workforces," said John Picerne with Picerne Military Housing.

The company also plan on doing minor renovations in another 600 homes.
