Murder suspect captured

LAWTON_ The manhunt is over. A Texas murder suspect has been captured after authorities tracked him from southwestern Oklahoma all the way to the northwestern part of the state. U.S. Marshals say an OSBI agent spotted William Kevin Knittel driving around 4 a.m. Sunday north of Cordell. The agent says Knittel stopped in the middle of the road and was ordered out of the car and arrested.

Marshals say they tracked Knittel from the Fort Cobb and Carnegie area Saturday afternoon all the way to the Mooreland area in Woodward County. Investigators say Knittel has family and friends in both regions.

He's accused of carrying out a murder for the aryan brotherhood last September in San Antonio. Police say he shot and dismembered a fellow aryan brotherhood member before throwing his body into brush next to a river.

Marshals say Knittel is in the Washita County Jail awaiting extradition back to Texas.
