Lawton_A shortcut through a Lawton parking lot left a semi tangled in live power lines. It happened around 6 Tuesday night in a parking lot between First and Second Streets and "A" and "B" Avenues.
Public Service Company Of Oklahoma tells 7News when the semi-driver cut through the lot, power lines hooked on the top of his trailer. That caused 2 power poles to break and lines ended up on the truck, trapping the driver.
Witnesses say a fireball then traveled down the lines. The incident did not actually knock out power to any customers, but to get the semi free, PSO had to cut power to about 2 dozen, including the YMCA and the Lawton Police Station. Once the poles were fixed, power was fully restored.
After the hearing, the Judiciary panel is expected to vote in the next two weeks to recommend Neil Gorsuch favorably to the full Senate.
Israeli police say they have arrested a 19-year-old Israeli Jewish man as the primary suspect in a string of bomb threats targeting Jewish community centers in the U.S. Police say the suspect's motives are unclear.
