Apache_The town of Apache is without a Police Chief and Assistant Chief after the City Council voted to fire both of them Friday.
Apache's mayor tells 7NEWS the council terminated Chief Thomas Hathorn and Assistant Chief Tony Porter following some recent turmoil within the department. The mayor says the council did not feel the two provided the proper leadership the town needs. They also placed another officer on probation for 90 days.
In addition to the firings, the mayor confirms the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating whether a teenage suspect was recently mistreated and whether a related police report was altered.
