WALTER_ Authorities say an inmate escaped from the Cotton County Jail on Saturday evening. The sheriff's department says 33-year-old Terry Lynn Manuel, Junior was doing some trusty work when he walked away from the jail. After escaping, the sheriff says Manuel took off in an SUV.

We're told Manuel was in jail for drugs and assault and battery on a police officer. Deputies, and the highway patrol are looking for him all throughout North Texas and Southwestern Oklahoma. They say he's driving a 1997 white GMC Jimmy. It has Oklahoma license plate number AKG-632.

If you see Manuel or know where he may be, you're asked to call police or the Cotton County Sheriff's Department at (580) 875-3383.
