Stephens County_A huge oil field explosion burned six workers on Monday, perhaps critically injuring one. Just before noon at the Noble Energy site near Loco in Stephens County all work came to an abrupt halt when a spark from equipment flashed and caused an explosion. The sheriff's department says that employees were removing metal plates from another piece of equipment when it happened.
Officials say that one of the injured workers was a Noble employee, and the other five were contract workers. Most are being treated at Duncan hospitals, but one person was so severely burned he was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital.
Noble says the company's safety team is on its way from Houston to investigate the incident. No one was able to confirm whether OSHA was on the scene, but Noble workers say they have shut down all business at the site and are unsure when it will resume.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking for witnesses to an officer-involved shooting south of Bristow, after a police chase down State Highway 48. According to the OSBI, Shawn Dale Sexton opened fire on a Bristow police officer as he was driving away from a shooting he'd just committed in Slick. As he was speeding down the highway, he also shot at a truck driving by.
Officials in Seminole County are working to identify someone after finding a dead man on the side of the road. That was near Cromwell. Authorities were alerted to the body after someone called On-Star, who then called 911. The man was found just past a bridge. The Seminole County Sheriff says they are investigating it right now as a homicide.
