Law enforcement officers from several Southwest Oklahoma agencies fanned across three counties this morning to make arrests and serve search warrants on various narcotics charges. District Attorney John Wampler says the arrests were the culmination of a six months long investigation spearheaded by the District Three DA Drug Task Force and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.
More than 65 officers - armed with warrants for 28 individuals - left their staging areas shortly after dawn and fanned out across Jackson, Tillman, and Kiowa Counties in search of the defendants. By 9AM, at least 19 individuals were in custody and others still being sought.
