Coody named to education commission

Oklahoma City_A member of the Oklahoma House will represent the Oklahoma legislature on the Education Commission of the states.

Rep. Ann Coody, a retired educator from Lawton, was named to the commission by House Speaker Chris Benge.  The Education Commission of the States is part of the Compact For Education that meets in Denver. It provides a forum for all branches of government in the Compact States to discuss educational policies.

The Lawton Republican says House leadership is committed to providing greater accountability and standards to Oklahoma schools.  As chair of the House Common Education Committee, Coody says she will have a role to play in crafting educational policy in Oklahoma.
