Comanche County Task Force assisting in extinguishing Taloga fire

Comanche County_Press Release_Several Comanche County volunteer fire departments continue to actively fight fire at a monster grass fire near Taloga.  Comanche County Emergency Management - along with Elgin, Fletcher, Cove Acres, Paradise Valley, and Flowermound Volunteer Fire Departments sent five brush trucks, one tanker, and 14 firefighters per a request from the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management.

The Comanche County Task Force gathered in Lawton at about 4 AM Friday morning to respond to the area for mutual aid.  Wind speeds are increasing, which is causing multiple flare-ups in the area.  Several towns have been evacuated as a result of the blaze which started Thursday afternoon.

Task forces from across the state have been called in for mutual aid.
