LAWTON, OK (TNN) - A man was arrest following a high-speed motorcycle chase through southwest Lawton Friday night.
It all started shortly before 10 o’clock, near SW 26th St. and A Ave. Police officers tried to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle for driving with no headlights and conducting an improper left turn on SW Sheridan Road. Instead of slowing down and pulling over, the driver sped up and took off in an attempt to get away from the officers.
The man driving the motorcycle, identified as Zavious Batts, eventually stopped at SW Sheridan Road and Bishop and surrendered to officers.
Police took Batts into custody and transported him to the station where he was booked. Batts is charged with eluding police, driving under suspension, equipment required, motorcycle equipment required, city warrant, and left turn prohibited.
