LAWTON, OK (TNN) - An international fraternity is giving back to the Lawton Veterans Center for their statewide community service project.
Once a year, all of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity chapters in the state get together to discuss business, talk about how each chapter is uplifting their communities and join together for a united community service project.
This year, the annual meeting was held in Lawton.
The Oklahoma State Ques Association President, says the local chapter is mostly composed of military or past military members. This is one reason they decided to support the Lawton Veterans Center by donating clothing items.
“We actually want to expose the rest of our chapters to this center and that’s why we’re here today, to let them know that this is here for vets," said John D. Veal, Jr., Oklahoma State Ques Association President. "Vets have given back to this country for years and now it’s our time to give back to vets.”
Omgea Psi Phi also provides scholarship opportunities to promote academic excellence among the undergraduate members. Graduate chapters provide financial assistance to student members and non-members.
