Over 20 individuals participated in the event including different organizations such as firefighters, police officers, churches, and students. This was all done to raise money for the Special Olympic teams in Duncan.

Director of Special Services for Duncan Public Schools, Michele DeBerry, said Special Olympics is not something that can be funded through the public school system.

“We’ve taken kids to Stillwater to Lawton. We’re taking a group to Mustang to participate in the unified softball tournament this year, so super excited," said DeBerry. "Our kids love it. Our student council and baseball and softball teams all participate with us and it’s a great service for the kids.”

Duncan students also held a bake sale during the event to raise additional money for Special Olympics.
