LAWTON, OK (TNN) - A Lawton woman pleaded no contest Wednesday to a child neglect charge.
According to court documents, 67-year-old Belreat Hodge Pleass was watching an 11-month-old in December 2017 when she left the child alone in a high chair for six hours.
Pleass said she went to a CPR class and thought her family members were in the home at the time, family that police say live out of town.
Authorities say she tried to blame the incident on Transient Global Amnesia.
She was given a 7-year suspended sentence and will not spend time behind bars, but she has been ordered to not seek any kind of child care employment.
